What is the function of Inulin in feed additive ?

Time:2020-05-12 Hits:

In recent years, the large use of antibiotics in the livestock industry, especially unscientific abuse, has made humans face a great threat of drug-resistant bacteria,At present, the European Union has issued a ban on the addition of antibiotics to feed;It is also imperative to restrict the use of antibiotics in livestock feed in China.Green, safe and non-polluting feed additives will become the new favorite of the feed industry.

General information of Inulin

Inulin, also known as chrysanthemum, is a natural fructose. Chrysanthemum powder is a natural carbohydrate that is hardly hydrolysised and digested by stomach acid. Chrysanthemum powder is undamaged before reaching the colon and is fermented by a large number of beneficial microorganisms in the colon, which has biological activity such as low-polyfructose and dietary fiber.

Herb Origin
The whole powder of chrysanthemum is derived from the chrysanthemum. Helianthus tuberosus, also known as artichoke, is a perennial herb of chrysanthemum. Native to North America, the 17th century into Europe, after the introduction to China, all over the country have cultivation. Its above-ground stems can be used as feed, underground tubers rich in starch, chrysanthemum and other fructose polysaccharides, can be eaten, cooked, porridge, pickled pickles, dried chrysanthemum taro or made starch and alcohol raw materials.
Inulin Function

1 Mechanism of animal digestion

Animals can only degrade alpha-(1,4) glycoside bonds, and chrysanthemum powder is a beta-(2,1) glycoside bonds connected to the linear fructose polymer, so chrysanthemum powder in the stomach and small intestine is not digested by its own secretion enzymes, into the large intestine chrysanthemum powder is used by beneficial bacteria fermentation, the generation of volatile fatty acids, gases and organic acids, chrysanthemum fermentation at the same time the large intestine absorption function is also correspondingly enhanced

2 Function for animals

a.Reduce cholesterol and triglyceride in animal serum and improve fat metabolism
Regulating the composition and function of the microbial region in the intestines, inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria in the intestines, promoting gastrointestinal function, reducing and preventing constipation, etc., are conducive to the rapid growth of animals.
Improve the body's immunity and reduce the rate of disease in animals.
Promote sedation and utilization of minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc
Reduce animal emissions and improve the environment around the farm

3 Application of inulin in livestock and poultry production

The application of chrysanthemum powder in pig production is mainly concentrated in piglets. Chrysanthemum powder can improve piglet production performance, enhance immune attack, improve intestinal micro-ecological environment, prevent and treat intestinal diseases, add 1.5%-2%.

In the chicken production of chrysanthemum powder applied to the chicks, chrysanthemum powder can enhance the immune performance of chicks, is expected to replace some of the role of antibiotics, the addition of about 0.5%, in egg chicken, egg chicken diet added chrysanthemum powder can significantly reduce the content of egg cholesterol and blind intestine harmful bacteria (E. coli) number, and does not affect the production performance of chicken and egg quality. In broiler, chrysanthemum powder improves the bone of the broiler, promotes growth, regulates fat metabolism, and inhibits bacterial growth.

Adding 7.0% chrysanthemum powder to the dog's daily diet had no effect on the digestion rate of dry matter, but the digestion rate of organic matter, crude protein and fat was reduced. Blind intestine is the main fermentation site in the rabbit body, in order to maintain the balance of the intestinal microbiome in the body, need a sufficient amount of carbohydrate (probiotic chrysanthemum powder). In order to improve the micro-ecological environment of rabbit intestines and reduce mortality, farms in some European countries usually add 1-3g/kg of oligopolyglycin or chrysanthemum powder to rabbit feed.
Based on current clients using experience,Andy biotech suggest below dosage for feed.
Recommended dosage of Inulin 65% for feed additive

A.  Piglets /Recommended dosage 12-16kg per MT/ Function:Prevention and treatment of intestinal diseases, such as diarrhea

B. Little Chick/Recommended dosage 7kg per MT/ Function:Strengthen immunity
C.  laying hen /Recommended dosage 7kg per MT/ Function:Lower cholesterol
D. table hen /Recommended dosage 7kg per MT/ Function:Improve bone and promote growth
E. dog /Recommended dosage 12kg per MT/ Function:Regulating the balance of intestinal flora
F. rabbit /Recommended dosage 2-5kg per MT/ Function:Reduced mortality
